Who we are

The 1 Billion AI Film Award (the “Award”) is hosted by the 1 Billion Followers Summit (the “Organizer”). The Organizer is the controller of the personal data collected through this site. Registration and creation services are operated on the Organizer’s behalf by a technology provider acting as processor.

What we collect

When you register your interest we collect your full name, email address, mobile number, country of residence, the time and IP address of your consent, and your language preference. We also record whether you opted in to marketing email and whether you have opened the creation platform.

When you submit a film (from 20 October 2026) we collect the film, its subtitles, and your AI disclosure.

Why we collect it and on what basis

• To run the Award (registration, verification, submissions, judging, announcements): performance of the contract formed by the Award terms.
• To verify your identity by one-time code sent to your phone or email: legitimate interest in preventing fraudulent or duplicate entries.
• To send Award updates you have opted in to: consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email.
• To keep the service secure (rate limiting, abuse prevention, audit logs): legitimate interest.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising trackers on this site.

Who we share it with

Service providers acting on our instructions: cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, SMS delivery and the creation platform. Judges and the Organizer’s staff see submissions and the name of the applicant. Finalists’ names and films may be published as part of the Award.

International transfers

Entrants are worldwide. Data is stored in the Asia-Pacific region and may be accessed by the Organizer in the United Arab Emirates. Where data protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Registration data is kept for the duration of the Award and for 12 months after the winner is announced, then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law or to resolve a dispute. Submissions from finalists may be archived under the licence in the Award terms.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. To delete your registration, use the deletion request on the site (we email you a confirmation link first) or contact us. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics are cookieless: we count page views and registration steps without identifying you.
